Q&A
Below you will find our most frequently asked questions. Can't find what you're looking for? Please email us at info@kimmelien.com or send us a message via the chat feature on our website. We try to answer all questions as quickly as possible!
What fabrics are the scrunchies made of?
We carefully select the finest fabrics and materials ourselves to make our scrunchies. Because satin availability can sometimes be limited, we also use other fabrics such as velvet, viscose, muslin, cupro wool, jacquard, etc. We always carry a selection of staple satin scrunchies and print our own exclusive designs onto satin. Every collection features both classic satin colors and a range of unique prints. If you are specifically looking for satin scrunchies or have doubts about a particular scrunchie/fabric, feel free to send us a message via our chat and we’ll be happy to help you find the perfect match!
What scrunchie size should I choose?
Which scrunchie size suits you best depends on your wishes and preferences. Here are a few guidelines:
-
Mini: especially for children, thin hair, or half-up hairstyles.
-
Medium: suitable for all hair types; the standard size.
-
Maxi: for thick hair or when you want to make a real statement piece.
Are all scrunchies handmade by you?
At the moment, all our scrunchies are handmade by us. For certain fabrics, it may occur that not all sizes are available. This is related to the thickness of the fabric. For example, velvet is only available in medium and XXL, whereas a lighter viscose may only be available in mini or medium to prevent it from hanging too loosely.
How best to care for your scrunchies?
We always recommend washing scrunchies by hand if you want to clean them. This helps keep the scrunch, print, and elastic in top condition for as long as possible.
Why is a scrunchie better than a regular hair tie?
A scrunchie is better for your hair because the fabric reduces friction between the elastic and your hair, thereby protecting it against breakage and other damage.
What material is your jewelry made of?
All our jewelry is made of stainless steel and is nickel-, lead-, and cadmium-free. However, some pieces may also incorporate natural stones or other elements.
How best to care for your jewelry?
All our jewelry is made of stainless steel, meaning it is durable and does not tarnish. You can shower with this jewelry. However, it is important to clean your jewelry regularly with lukewarm water and a soft cloth to maintain its shine for as long as possible. When you are not wearing your jewelry, it is wise to store it in a dry place, such as one of our jewelry boxes. Avoid contact with strong chemicals such as perfume, certain shampoos, and cleaning agents. For the longevity of your jewelry, it is also advised not to wear it while exercising or in a sauna, as perspiration can cause the jewelry to dull sooner.
